2020

Berg Lake / Mt Robson wilderness photography workshops – July 10-13 & August 21-24 (3 nights)

What to expect

Alpine lakes, wide open views, pristine wilderness, a beautiful trail system, wildflowers, wildlife, camping close to Berg Lake, and if it’s clear, the opportunity to photograph the night sky punctuated by the giant frame of Mt Robson, a Canadian Rockies icon and bucket list destination. We will arrive and depart the core area via helicopter, set up camp from which we can enjoy many phenomenal photography opportunities.

A moderate level of fitness is required. You will need to be able to carry your camera gear & any necessities with you on our daily activities. A small group size limited to 5 participants to keep our impact low and maximize your learning experience through my photography instruction & guiding.

I am a licensed guide, have a commercial permit for the Berg Lake/Mt Robson area, hold current first aid and advanced wilderness first aid certifications & have taken many prior trips into this area. This workshop is suitable for all levels of photography experience as there will be many one on one opportunities throughout our time together. I will be by your side providing all that I know and love about landscape photography.

This is a unique & potentially once in a lifetime experience! – You will never forget photographing soaring peaks and glaciers while enjoying a peaceful off the grid camping experience.

Tombstone Territorial Park backcountry photography adventure (Yukon) – August 3rd – 9th (6 nights)

Price: $2995

This Photography adventure starts and ends in Whitehorse in the Yukon.

We will then drive North to the historical gold mining town of Dawson City which will be our base from which to visit ‘The Patagonia of the North’, Tombstone Territorial Park. We will then access the backcountry via helicopter (and also be picked up by helicopter) allowing for 3 nights camping in the remote Yukon wilderness in front of some of the most stunning landscapes in Canada.

The photography opportunities are immense with giant walled mountains surrounding us and beautiful lakes by both of our camping locations. Hiking is required between the two campsites (Talus & Divide) and during the days to reach our photography locations. A moderate level of fitness is required. Walking distances of between 6 – 10km per day with small elevation gains mixed in are the norm. You will need to be able to carry your camera gear & any necessities with you over these distances although most of our gear will be stored at our campsites while we explore. The group size is small, limited to 5 participants to keep our impact low and maximize your learning experience through my photography instruction & mentoring.

Guiding, photography instruction, transportation and accommodation is included (except camping gear – you will need to bring your own tent, sleeping bag and mat for the 3 nights camping as well as a backpack for your gear). You will be provided with a selection of lightweight but nutritious backcountry meals for breakfast & dinner during the 3 nights camping. The other 3 nights are twin share in hotels in Dawson City. Your guide is an experienced licensed guide for this area who will provide natural and photographic insights on this remote location nestled just below the arctic circle so that you will come away with amazing photos and experiences from this multi-day adventure.

This workshop is suitable for all levels of photography experience as there will be many one on one opportunities throughout our time together. I will be by your side providing all that I know and love about landscape photography.

This is a once in a lifetime trip! You will never forget photographing Mt Monolith and it’s imposing spires from the many humbling perspectives beneath it.
