Family photography sessions in Banff

family photography group photo in winter at Lake Minnewanka

If you are looking to have photos taken of you, you and your partner, or you and your family while you are here visiting in Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise & anywhere else in The Canadian Rockies then I would love to be the photographer to help you capture that experience!

Walking along Benchlands Trail on a winter morning on a family photography photo shoot.

It was with some surprise that after taking a number of these sessions with people who had reached out to me that I found I enjoyed it as much as photographing the mountain landscape here in The Canadian Rockies. It is a real privilege to meet people from all over the world, and to be able to photograph them and their dynamics with each other. Editing these sessions afterwards has always brought a smile to my face too, seeing the moments and emotions a second time from out from behind the camera. It has provided a different sense of joy than with just photographing the landscape.

There’s just something about being actively engaged in the outdoors here in The Canadian Rockies – when I’m using the camera outside it doesn’t matter what its for, I just love it! So, I’m happy to offer these photography sessions! – please get in touch to make a booking under the tab ‘Banff Photo Shoots’ or at the end of this blog post.

I am excited to work out where the best places are for your photo shoot near Banff or Canmore according to the season, light and weather so you come away with some incredible images that will remind you of your trip, significant other, or family! I am also happy to travel to Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake and all the way to Jasper to take on a session in the setting of your choice – just let me know when you make a booking request and I will endeavor to make it happen.

Throughout this blog are recent winter family photography images from a session in Canmore and Banff with Coady, Andrew & their two daughters. They braved the -17 Celcius start to the morning on a crisp bluebird day and we shot along Benchlands Trail in Canmore to take advantage of some nice morning side-lighting with the Three Sisters as a backdrop, followed by warming up in a local hotel in Canmore, and then it was off to Banff for some outdoor activity at Cascade Ponds and Lake Minnewanka to finish the session. It was a highlight, and finished the 2018 year off on a really positive note meeting these four.

If you are a local from the Bow Valley area I also offer a discount on your session so make sure to mention it when you make your inquiry!
